Meet our guest expert

Jessica Hutchins, MD

Jessica Hutchins, MD is a functional medicine expert who has expanded her practice to include women and men of all ages. Traditionally trained and board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, she now has brought what she has learned from treating chronic conditions like PCOS, anxiety, infertility, and menopausal symptoms in her practice in Northern California to her expanded practice at Inspire Wellness and the Cleveland Clinic. She is one of a handful of MDs who is both board certified in OB/GYN and an Institute of Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner.

Functional medicine is a new way of approaching chronic disease. Dr. Hutchins looks at the root cause, not just the signs or symptoms. She evaluates the entire organism, not just specific organs. Dr. Hutchins combines personalized medicine using root cause analysis with whichever treatments may benefit each individual including referral to acupuncture, chiropractic, Chinese herbs, yoga or massage therapy and mind-body therapy. Nutrition is often the first and most important step in facilitating health for her patients. Her special interests include autism/ADHD, nonceliac gluten sensitivity and, of course, women’s health.

Dr. Hutchins received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Denison University. She then received her MD from CWRU and completed her residency in OBGYN at University Hospitals of Cleveland. Additionally, she has had extensive addition training in integrative and functional medicine mostly through The Institute of Functional Medicine.
